TM-Europe Conference, Warsaw, Poland 1st/2nd October 2009.
Adrian Hughes, director of performance solutions at Investors in Excellence is delivering the Keynote address ‘Investing in Excellence – Quality STILL matters’ at the above conference.
The international conference is expected to attract delegates from over 30 countries involved in the language industry. This will includes company owners and directors of translation agencies, as well as providers of IT technology and translation vendor and project managers at multinational enterprises and EU institutions.
The focus of Adrian’s address is to explore quality issues facing the language industry and to demonstrate how the Investors in Excellence Standard can address the identified issues and provide a very effective framework to deliver sustainable results in this vibrant sector.
The invitation to address the conference came via Dr Isabella Moore, CBE, owner of Leamington on Spa based Comtec Translations, who is attending. Isabella is an accomplished and high profile business leader who is passionate about business excellence.
Isabella has been an enthusiastic user of the Excellence Model for many years. Her company was a Small Business finalist for the Midlands Excellence Awards in 2001. She sold her business soon after and has recently bought the business back with her daughter Sophie, who has responsibility for the day to day management of the Company.
"The Investors in Excellence Standard should be adopted widely throughout the translations sector. It is an excellent tool for driving improvement into any organisation. Quality is not just about the quality of the language services provided but about the whole customer experience with your organisation. The Investors in Excellence Standard provides a means of assessing leadership skills, people and supply chain management, operational processes and procedures and customer relationships. It also develops discipline in the measurement of performance at all levels of a business. Thanks to the framework that the Excellence Model had provided, we were able to buy back the business and begin operating very quickly. We are hoping this time round that we will do even better!"
