Congratulations to The Wrekin Housing Trust for achieving the IiE Standard
We are very proud to announce that The Wrekin Housing Trust is now recognised as an Investor in Excellence.
The Wrekin Housing Trust is a charitable registered social landlord, providing homes and related services to more than 12,000 people in Shropshire and Staffordshire.
The Trust has just celebrated 10 years of business since being created following a voluntary transfer from Telford & Wrekin Council in 1999.
The principal activities of the Trust are developing homes, letting and managing homes, maintaining and improving homes, providing support services to the people living in homes and contributing to wider neighbourhood and community partnerships.
While the Trust already had a good approach to continuous improvement it was based mostly on purely process improvement. The model steered the organisation to a more holistic approach to continuous improvement, which included the whole organisation, from the Board to front line employees, allowing us to assess and continually improve our quality.
Use of the model and a holistic approach to excellence has allowed the organisation to focus it’s activities in a more efficient way. But tangible outcomes are sustained improvement in performance and the awarding of the highest awards for both Governance and Financial Viability this year by the Tenants Services Authority, our Government regulator.
Wrekin found that they could also benchmark themselves with and learn from other businesses who are not in our sector as well as those who are.
John Broadhead, Chief Executive commented, “To be an Investor in Excellence is a tremendous pat on the back for all the people within the organisation who have demonstrated their commitment to excellence over the years, and the hard work and determination they have shown in achieving a better business and a better service and outcomes for our customers.”
Congratulations once again to The Wrekin Housing Trust!
